September 16th, 2008 — Kay will address the Charlotte Writers Club on the craft of writing and read from Notes from a Classroom. The Charlotte Writers Club meets at 7:00 pm at Joseph-Beth Booksellers, SouthPark. Meetings are open to the public.

September 25th, 2008 — Kay will be speaking to the Castalion Book Club in Rock Hill, SC. Check back soon for more information!

May 29th, 2008 — Kay will share her “Notes from the Classroom” on the nationally syndicated Bob & Sheri radio program. Kay will begin her live interview at approximately 9:10 am.

May 3rd, 2008, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm — The South Carolina Writers Workshop in Rock Hill will feature Kay who will be the keynote speaker and will sign copies of Notes. The event will take place at Grace Lutheran Church.

April 21st, 2008, 5:30 pm — Kay will be interviewed by Terry Plumb on Piedmont Politics, the weekly public affairs talk show on WNSC-TV, Cable Channel 15. Click here to read the Wikipedia entry about WNSC-TV.

April 10th, 2008, 4:00 pm — Join Kay when she speaks at Winthrop University’s Plowden Auditorium for the Friends of Dacus Library event. Plowden Auditorium is located in the Withers/W.T.S. Building, number 32 on the Winthrop University campus map.

March 29th, 2008, 9:45 am — Kay will meet with the English teachers in a Teach for America professional development session at Waddell High School in Charlotte.

March 10th — 11th, 2008 — Kay will be one of three authors speaking at the annual Book and Author event hosted by the Friends of the Library of Queens University of Charlotte. Share dinner with Kay and her fellow authors at 7:00 pm on March 10th, or come to the luncheon on the 11th at 11:30 am. The Book and Author event is an esteemed Charlotte tradition, first started in 1972, that gives book lovers and library supporters a chance to meet, greet and dine with authors such as Gail Godwin, Nicholas Sparks, and Joyce Carol Oates. November 24th, 2007 — Signing at the Book Rack of Rock Hill, 742 N Anderson Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Kay will be signing from, 1 pm – 3 pm.

November 13th, 2007 — Talk and booksigning at Queens University of Charlotte. Kay’s talk, “Lion Taming for Dummies: A Teacher Shares Her Notes from the Classroom,” begins at 7:00 pm in the Sykes Auditorium.

Sykes Auditorium, is located on the lower level of the Sykes Learning Center, number 31 on the Queens University campus map.

November 12, 2007 — Interview taping for UNC-TV’s North Carolina Now. Watch for local airings!

November 8th, 2007 — Booksigning at Park Road Books, 4139 Park Road, Park Road Shopping Center, Charlotte, NC 28209. Signing begins at 7:00 pm.

November 4th, 2007— Watch Kay’s interview on “Charlotte Now with Mike Collins”. The 30 minute TV show airs on Sunday nights at 10:30 pm on WJZY, cable channel 8.

October 30th, 2007 — Turn your dial to WFAE, 90.7 FM to listen live from 9:00 am – 10:00 am as Mike Collins, host of Charlotte Talks, interviews Kay about Notes from a Classroom. Or listen to a rebroadcast of the show from 9:00 pm – 10:00 pm.

October 13th, 2007 — Talk and booksigning during “Tea for Teachers,” Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 1489 W.O. Ezell Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301. Kay will be speaking and signing from 10 am – 11 am.

Kay will be giving another talk and signing later this day at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Sharon Corners Shopping Center, 4720 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Kay’s talk and signing will be from 2 pm – 3 pm.

October 5th, 2007 — Kay will sign copies of Notes from a Classroom for display in the Yale University Bookstore in New Haven, CT.

October 4th, 2007 — Talk and booksigning at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 278-A Harbison Blvd, Columbia, SC 29212. Kay will be speaking and signing during “Educator Night,” scheduled for 7 pm – 9pm.
